Welcome to the Berlitz language school in Duisburg
In downtown Duisburg, close to the Duisburg city hall, Salvator church, and Lehmbruck Museum, you’ll find our Berlitz Center. Located on the 3rd floor (3. OG) are our large, well-lit classrooms, where we not only offer regular language instruction, but also integration language classes, company courses, and German courses for professional purposes. Our helpful team of instructors is passionate about helping every course participant. Instruction is based on our effective Berlitz Method, so you’ll make rapid and lasting progress. In your language course, we focus not only on teaching you to speak a new language confidently and without mistakes, but also on providing you with a lot of important and interesting background information about the culture of the place where it’s spoken. - Central location: Because the Berlitz language school is located right in downtown Duisburg, it is easy to reach by car and by public transportation. You can park your car in the Parkhaus City parking garage or in the pedestrian zone (Untere Münzstraße) at affordable rates. There are additional parking spots located nearby. For those taking public transportation, the U79/903 König-Heinrich-Platz and U901 Rathaus stops are within walking distance.
- Preparation for language tests and certificates: Our language instructors know what it takes to pass language tests such as telc, VPET (formerly LCCI), TOEFL, or TOEIC, which means they can provide you with optimal support in preparing for these exams.
- Official test center: At the Duisburg language center, you can not only take prep courses for selected language tests, but also sit for the officially recognized examinations German telc language tests (B1, B2, C1), and DTZ.
- Language courses for kids: For kids and teens ages 11 years and up, we offer language camps in the school vacations. We also provide individual instruction to children ages 6 years and older. If you’d like more information, please contact us.

FAQs
Can I take state-subsidized courses at the Duisburg Berlitz Center?
Yes, our language courses qualify for several different forms of state funding, such as: Individual instruction (with the Federal Employment Agency’s and the Jobcenter’s AVGS training voucher); integration courses and German for Professional Purposes (DeuFöV) as well as German for specific professions which are subsidized by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). We also offer language courses which can be subsidized with an Education Check. Lastly, some of our online courses also qualify for AVGS training vouchers. We’ll be happy to advise you.
What qualifications do Berlitz language instructors have?

Do I have to do homework every week?
